CES 2024 | Dell UltraSharp 40 Curved Thunderbolt Hub Monitor U4025QW showcased before CES 2024 with DisplayPort 2.1, Thunderbolt 4 and 140 W device charging
Dell has now fully detailed the Dell UltraSharp 40 Curved Thunderbolt Hub Monitor (U4025QW), a larger alternative to the also new UltraSharp 34 Curved Thunderbolt Hub Monitor (U3425WE) and successor to the U4021QW. As a Windows Report leak suggested, the U4025QW will retain its predecessor's 5,120 x 2,160 (5K) resolution and overall design. However, Dell has made a few improvements in several areas, including moving from a 60 Hz to a 120 Hz refresh rate.
Additionally, Dell states that the monitor's IPS Black panel allows it to achieve VESA DisplayHDR 600 certification, as well as a 2,000:1 contrast ratio and 99% Display P3/DCI-P3 colour space coverages. Moreover, Dell allows the monitor to recharge a connected device at up to 140 W via its Thunderbolt 4 port, which it complements with DisplayPort 2.1, HDMI 2.1, USB Type-A and USB Type-C ports. Furthermore, the U4025QW integrates a 2.5 Gigabit Ethernet port for wired internet, an ambient light sensor and a KVM switch to maximise versatility, among other features.
So far, Dell has confirmed that the U4025QW will launch on February 27 with pricing set at $2,399.99 and CA$3,289.99 for the US and Canada, respectively. Supposedly, Dell intends to sell the monitor globally too, although it is unclear when or for how much. Given that the company's press release does not mention EMEA availability, we imagine that the U4025QW will remain a North American exclusive initially.
