Back at CES, Dell showed off the confusingly named Dell Pro Max 14 and 16 as its high-end business laptops. Now, the company has two more equally puzzling models to show us, named Dell Pro Max 16 Plus and Dell Pro Max 18 Plus. They had been mentioned once in a pre-CES leak in late 2024 but haven't launched at the event. No price has been specified, but the laptops are expected to hit shelves sometime in July 2025.
The Dell Pro Max 16 Plus and Dell Pro Max 18 Plus are powered by a "55 Watt Intel CPU", implying it could be an Arrow Lake-HX SKU like the Core Ultra 9 275HX. It comes paired up with an Nvidia RTX Pro 5000 Blackwell Generation GPU with up to 24 GB VRAM. An easily accessible hatch at the bottom makes memory/storage upgrades user-friendly and frictionless.
The Dell Pro Max 16 Plus and Dell Pro Max 18 Plus can be fitted with up to 256 GB of CAMM memory at 7,200 MT/s or 96 GB of SODIMM RAM. Storage caps out at 16 TB on the Pro Max 18 and 12 TB on the Pro Max 16, with additional options for different RAID configurations. Additionally, both models come with a mix of Thunderbolt 5.0 and Thunderbolt 4.0 ports for extra expansion needs.
The Dell Pro Max 16 Plus comes with up to a 4K 16:10 tandem OLED panel, 120 Hz refresh rate, and VESA HDR-1000 True Black certification. On the other hand, the Dell Pro Max 18 Plus is restricted to an 18-inch 1440p screen. Both laptops come with a 92 Wh battery that supports up to 280 Watt fast charging via USB-C. Similarly, they feature an 8 MP webcam with Windows Hello functionality baked in.
