Dell's flagship Pro 13 Plus, Pro 14 Plus, Pro 14, Pro 16, and Pro 16 Plus series has almost doubled in configurable options overnight as AMD processors are now available for all. They can each be equipped with the latest Ryzen 200 and 300 series processors starting with the Ryzen 3 210 up to the Ryzen AI 9 HX Pro 370 for the Plus models or the Ryzen AI 7 350 for the non-Plus models.
Unlike the Ryzen 300 series, the 200 series is based on AMD's older Zen 4 platform with much weaker integrated NPUs and only up to the Radeon 780M integrated GPU. In turn, their starting prices are slightly lower than their Intel counterparts by a couple of hundred dollars depending on the model.
Meanwhile, the Zen 5-based Ryzen 300 HX series should provide a much more massive performance boost over the Ryzen 200 series and especially the Intel Lunar Lake V-series and Meteor Lake U-series. The Dell models can only be configured with Intel V-series and U-series CPUs meaning performance hunters will want to stick with the new AMD HX options. If battery life and performance-per-watt are priorities, however, then we recommend configuring with the a leaner Intel V-series processor instead.
As far as color options go, only the AMD Pro 14 and Pro 16 models can be configured in black or silver while all other AMD models are limited to silver. The product page links to each AMD model are listed below.
