Cybertruck undergoes water-resistance tests ahead of first release date deliveries
New and improved Cybertruck gigacastings have been spotted spread out at the Gigafactory in Texas during one of the regular overflights of Joe Tegtmeyer there. These front casts may be destined for the first Cybertruck deliveries to select buyers, as Joe's factory sources tip that "customer production of Cybertruck began earlier this week."
As it should, since Tesla has scheduled a grand launch event at Giga Texas for the Cybertruck release date on November 30. Interestingly enough, the Cybertruck has also been spotted doing water-resistance trials at the dedicated leakage test chamber.
The Cybertruck is getting closer to launch and Tesla apparently wants to ensure that the initial batches of its first electric pickup won't have pesky issues like the Model Y trunk water leakage. That one required a second Service Bulletin and a different sealant to be fixed with either a visit to a Tesla service center, or calling its Mobile Service Rangers to do the gasket fixes on the spot.
On a separate note, the overflight footage also shows some new Cybertruck wheel cover design that hasn't been used by Tesla before, at least not out in the open and not even caught on spy shots. The Cybertruck wheels are decked out in a fresh set of black wheel covers with faux steel spokes and silver edges, perfectly matching the black top and stainless steel design of the Cybertruck.
