Core Devices has kicked off 2026 with the launch of a new smartwatch based on the Pebble Time Round from over a decade ago. The new Pebble Round 2 has a bigger and sharper display, in addition to significantly improved battery life, while still keeping the design as slim as possible.

In 2025, Eric Migicovsky new company, Core Devices, resurrected the Pebble watch brand he originally founded with two new smartwatches — the Pebble 2 Duo and the Pebble Time 2. It also announced a smart ring in December 2025 called the Pebble Index 01. Now, to kick off 2026, Core Devices has unveiled a new smartwatch based on the iconic Pebble Time Round from the original Pebble era.

The new smartwatch is called the Pebble Round 2 and is the spiritual successor to the Pebble Time Round. The Round 2 has a modern design and several upgrades over the original Pebble Time Round, but still keeps the lightweight and thin form factor many people liked from the original.

The Pebble Round 2 has a 1.3-inch color ePaper display with no bezel and is housed in a stainless steel case. The display has a 260 x 260 resolution, which is double that of the Pebble Time Round, and also has significantly better viewing angles. While the display has touch support, owners can choose to operate the watch with the four tactile buttons on the sides. There's also a backlight for when you are in the dark.

The Pebble Round 2 has a pedometer and sleep tracking, but lacks a heart rate sensor and other health or sport tracking features. There are two microphones on the watch for interacting with AI agents and replying to messages, but there's no speaker, so you can't take a call on it. The Pebble Round 2 also features an accelerometer, a magnetometer, and a vibrating motor in its 8.1mm thick body.

The spec sheet says the Pebble Round 2 is compatible with Android and iOS. It also states that the battery life should last up to two weeks, a huge bump over the two days of battery life of the Pebble Time Round. The spec sheet mentions it is water-resistant up to a depth of 30 meters.

The Pebble Round 2 is available to pre-order now for $199 and will begin to ship in May 2026. The smartwatch is available in Matte Black which has a 20mm band, Polished Rose Gold with a 14mm band, and Brushed Silver which comes with a 14mm or 20mm band. Regardless of the color or size you choose, the watch will ship with a silicone band. However, buyers will be able to buy bands made from other materials, including leather.

Core Devices has also disclosed that those who pre-ordered a Pebble Time 2, which is expected to begin shipping in March 2026, can switch their orders to the Pebble Round 2 here if they want.
