Citizen's new titanium Zenshin Eco-Drive arrives in the UK, costs far less than in the US

Citizen's gold-tone Zenshin Three-hand has now arrived in the UK. The AW0132-55P is currently listed on Citizen UK for £449, where it also carries a "New" badge. The watch went on sale in the US last week and was already available in Spain before that.

The Zenshin line is built around Super Titanium, which is Citizen's own hardened titanium. This version also puts a gold-tone Duratect Amber Yellow surface treatment on top. It's not plating, though. The surface is a niobium-titanium alloy, hardened to between 1,700 and 2,300 on the Vickers scale. Citizen introduced the finish in 2025. The case on this watch is 39mm wide, and flows into an integrated bracelet with a brushed and polished finish. That closes with a fold-over clasp with push buttons.

The dial is a textured gold tone. It is framed by a black outer minute ring. The hands and markers are silver-toned and luminous. Plus, there's a combined day-date window at 3 o'clock too. Citizen says that window is a nod to retro watch styling. The crystal is sapphire, and the watch is rated for 100 m of water resistance.

It's powered by Citizen's J800 Eco-Drive movement, according to Citizen US. Like every Eco-Drive, it charges from any light source, so there's no battery to replace.

The UK price is a lot friendlier than the US one, however. Once you take out the UK's 20% VAT, £449 comes to about £374, or roughly $500. In the US, the same watch costs $695 before sales tax. That makes it around 39% more expensive there. Even with VAT included, £449 works out to about $600, which is still well below the US price.
