As reported previously, Casio has launched a new Daft Punk-themed G-Shock watch in collaboration with LA-based streetwear brand, Pleasures. The watch (with the model number DW5600PDP251), which was unveiled on October 9, is now reportedly confirmed for an October 16 launch in North America.
This triple collaboration model features the signature DW-5600 "square" case, with branding and visuals inspired by the iconic electronic music producer duo, Daft Punk, including helmet and text motifs on the band and strap. The backlight also displays Daft Punk imagery. Sales will be limited to the Casio USA Online Store and Pleasures' official store. The Japanese market will not have an official release as per Great G-Shock World, but parallel imports are expected. However, prices are anticipated to be at a premium due to limited availability.
The DW-5600 line, including the DW5600PDP251 collaboration, is built around G-Shock’s highly durable square case design. Standard features include 200-meter water resistance, full shock resistance, a multi-function digital display, stopwatch, countdown timer, daily alarm, auto-calendar, and electroluminescent backlight. The watch uses a lightweight resin case and band.
Packaging is also co-branded, exhibiting Daft Punk and Pleasures' logos alongside G-Shock branding. It's priced at $180 in the US. For collectors and Daft Punk fans, this should be a highly sought-after collaboration model, and we can expect it to sell out quickly post launch.
