We previously reported on a new external graphics card from Ayaneo. Originally scheduled to hit the shelves in November, the AG01 Starship can now be purchased directly from the company and is finally ready to be shipped. Strictly speaking, the Ayaneo AG01 isn't just an external GPU but also a docking solution that allows users to easily install an M.2-2280 SSD without any tools. Inside, the SSD is connected via PCIe 3.0, meaning it doesn’t have access to the maximum possible bandwidth. The device also features Gigabit Ethernet, a USB 3.2 Gen 2 port, and an SD card slot with a max transfer rate of 300 MB/s. Apparently, these additional ports are usable only if the AG01 is connected via USB4, which also enables the dock to charge a device at up to 100 watts using USB Power Delivery. There is also an OCuLink interface with a 64 Gbit/s bandwidth, capable of delivering higher data transfer speeds than the USB4 port. External monitors can be plugged into the two DisplayPort 2.0 and two HDMI 2.1 interfaces.
The built-in graphics accelerator is an AMD Radeon RX 7600M XT featuring 8 GB of GDDR6 memory and operating at a clock speed of 2,300 MHz. The total graphics power (TGP) is rated at 100 watts, but users can enable a 120-watt turbo mode by pressing a button. The dock weighs 960 g (2.12 lb), measures 240 x 118 x 51 mm (9.4 x 4.6 x 2.0 in) and is decked out in RGB lighting. Ayaneo is offering the AG01 Starship at $599. Those interested in the product should familiarise themselves with the terms of shipping beforehand.
