Beats products have been no stranger to controversy, with many having deemed the brand overpriced and influencer-driven. However, that is not to say that the company has not made some excellent audio devices, and the Beats Solo 4 Wireless is certainly among them. Thanks to an ongoing sale on Amazon, the headphones can now be purchased for their lowest-ever price so far, at just $99 on Amazon.
Let's cut straight to the chase, and address the audio performance of the Solo 4 Wireless. Beats has seemingly managed to steer away from the over-emphasized bass it was once known for, and the Solo 4 Wireless certainly is a testament to that. According to RTINGS' comprehensive review, the Solo 4 Wireless sports excellent neutral sound quality, with substantial attention to lows as well as highs. The cans also support USB as well as analog playback, the latter of which offers very low latency. Battery life is outstanding as well, lasting nearly 50 hours on a single charge. From an audio stance, the Solo 4 Wireless cans leave very little room for criticism.
That being said, there are a few major deficiencies with the Solo 4 Wireless. First and foremost, audio codec support is scant, with only SBC and AAC proffered. There is no custom equalizer functionality, which is a massive downer for people with unique tastes. There is no noise cancellation support, which can be excused given its price, but its poor noise isolation is hard to look past. Still, for people who care about a well-balanced neutral sound above everything else, the Beats Solo 4 Wireless at its current price offers excellent value.
