Asus releases 14- and 16-inch laptops with Core 7 350, 144Hz display and 20-hour battery life

Asus has released new Vivobook S14 and S16 configurations in multiple countries. Both laptops have the same processor, RAM and storage options, but differ in screen size and refresh rate.
Asus has previously introduced Snapdragon-powered versions of the Vivobook S14 and S16, as well as convertible models. Asus has also recently released 14-inch and 16-inch Vivobook Pro models with different configurations.
Key highlights of the Asus Vivobook S14 and S16
The Vivobook S14 has a 14-inch IPS display with a resolution of 1920 x 1200 pixels, a 16:10 aspect ratio and a 60Hz refresh rate. Asus specifies a brightness of up to 300 nits and 100% sRGB coverage. The larger Vivobook S16 uses a 16-inch IPS panel with the same resolution but a higher refresh rate of 144Hz, which should provide smoother scrolling and motion.
Both laptops are powered by Intel's Core 7 350 processor, which has six cores and can reach clock speeds of up to 4.8GHz. They also feature integrated Intel Graphics and an NPU rated at up to 17 TOPS.
The laptops come with 16GB of soldered LPDDR5X memory and a 512GB PCIe 4.0 SSD. The memory cannot be upgraded, but the specifications list an M.2 2280 slot for storage.
The Vivobook S14 weighs approximately 2.65 lbs (1.2 kg), while the Vivobook S16 weighs around 3.31 lbs (1.5 kg). Both models have a 52.5Wh battery. Asus claims more than 20 hours of video playback for the S14 and over 15 hours for the S16.
Connectivity includes two USB-C ports with DisplayPort and Power Delivery support, two USB-A ports, an HDMI 2.1 TMDS port and a 3.5mm audio jack. Both laptops also support Wi-Fi 6 and Bluetooth 5.4 and have a 1080p webcam. The Indian configurations include Windows 11 Home, while the operating system and bundled software may vary by market.
We reviewed the Snapdragon-powered Vivobook S16 last year, which impressed us with its 144Hz IPS display and long battery life. However, that model uses a Qualcomm Snapdragon X processor and a higher-resolution 2560 x 1600 display.
