Its 1920 x 1200, 165 Hz IPS display and sturdy 2.2 kg chassis target gamers and creators seeking a responsive, durable machine. Critics highlight solid connectivity including multiple USB 3.x ports, USB-C PD, HDMI, Wi-Fi 6, and Bluetooth 5.3, plus a 90 Wh battery and IR webcam. However, some reviewers argue the price is high versus similarly specced competitors and note the absence of USB4 as a notable limitation. Fan noise under gaming loads is also called out as a major drawback, making the A16 best suited to budget-conscious users who can tolerate acoustic compromises in exchange for strong performance and value.

There's a lot to like about the ASUS TUF Gaming A16. It performs reasonably well in creative tasks and is well positioned to connect to fast storage and networking. The problem is that it costs a bit too much when you compare it to similarly specced machines, and that’s going to put potential buyers off.

The ASUS TUF Gaming A16 2025 FA608UH is one of the best budget laptops I’ve seen in a long time. As the meme goes, “top for its price” – and I mean in the way classic Xiaomi used to deliver value, not current trends. For its price, the laptop offers a strong display, solid performance, a well-built chassis, good battery life, and numerous other advantages. There are some drawbacks, but aside from the USB4 issue, they’re mostly minor. Overall, it’s a model I can recommend. The ASUS TUF Gaming A16 (2025) has a great design and performs very well for its price, capable of running demanding titles with near-maximum settings. However, the trade-off is excessive noise, which will require some decent noise cancelling to combat. If you can live with this drawback, though, the TUF Gaming A16 (2025) is a great gaming laptop for those on a budget.
