Because of the shrinking bezels, 16:9 laptops are becoming ever more rectangular. The 16:10 notebooks have the potential to offer not only more screenspace but also a smaller footprint.
The Asus ROG Zephyrus M16, which comes with a 16-inch screen, has a smaller footprint than comparable laptops with 15-inch displays. The IPS panel of the Zephyrus M16 has a native resolution of 2560x1600 pixels (this is slightly larger than the standard QHD resolution of 2560x1440 pixels). The Zephyrus M16’s screen is colour-accurate, bright and fast (165 Hz; 3 ms). This is why gaming on the Zephyrus M16 is such a pleasure.
Our review configuration of the Zephyrus M16 features an Intel Core i9-11900H and an Nvidia GeForce RTX 3070. This is why the Zephyrus M16 can easily handle all modern titles. The CPU provides a very high level of performance, which it can sustain over an extended period of time. The RTX 3070 with a 100-W TGP does very well in modern games. However, other laptops manage to squeeze more performance out of this GPU.
The Zephyrus M16 features 6 speakers, which is why it sounds so good. Other gaming notebooks do not sound anywhere near this good. The battery life is also very impressive. The Asus laptop lasted 8 hours in our Wi-Fi test.
We also have a few points of criticism. For instance, the Zephyrus M16 offers below-average Wi-Fi performance. However, the advantages far outweigh the disadvantages. All in all, the Asus ROG Zephyrus M16 is a great gaming notebook.
