Asus ROG Phone 6 confirmed to feature significantly improved thermals for better gaming performance
The Asus ROG Phone 6 is coming. The company, earlier in the month, officially announced a July 5 launch event for the gaming phone. It's slowly revealed teasers for the ROG Phone 6 since then, with the latest hyping up the phone's sustained gaming performance.
As shared on the ROG Global page earlier today, the Asus ROG Phone 6 will arrive with much-improved thermals over the outgoing ROG Phone 5. The posted image is a bit enigmatic, however, as it only claims "+30% vapor chamber" and "+85% graphite sheet".
We expect those numbers to be a direct performance improvement over the applications on the ROG Phone 5—which also featured a 3D vapor chamber and graphite sheet—and should guarantee better sustained performance while gaming. While it's unlikely to match the Nubia RedMagic 7 Pro and its active cooling, it should still deliver substantially better unthrottled performance than traditional flagships.
The Asus ROG Phone 6 will debut with a Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 in less than two weeks. In addition to its improved cooling, it will also feature a 165 Hz AMOLED. We'll keep you updated.
