Vivo X80 Lite and Pro Plus slated to launch soon, maybe even internationally
Vivo's high-end X80 'camera-first' series has reached markets beside their native China thus far - now, the line is expected to get further attention with a more affordable variant. The leaker @passionategeekz, in partnership with RootMyGalaxy, bases this new claim on lines of code alluding to a V2208, or X80 Lite 5G.
The tipsters note that this alleged hint of the phone's existence is not accompanied by spec or launch information as yet. Nevertheless, it is speculated that, thanks to the connectivity hint, this "X80 Lite" might stand to become Vivo's first-gen excuse to use the Snapdragon 7 Gen 1 processor.
That might put it into a ~US$400 category should it truly debut soon. The X80 Pro+, on the other hand, might go for far more thanks to its Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 platform, potentially improved Zeiss-tuned rear cameras and X80 Pro specs otherwise.
This putative flagship has popped up on the rumor mill again, with an alleged October 2022 launch window - and internationally, too. Should this be the case, and given its specs, it could act as Vivo's top-end smartphone worldwide for the year, consigning the X Note and X Fold to China-only status for good.
