Vivo has already launched vanilla and Pro variants of the X80 series in 2022. Now, the latest leaks suggest the brand has been keeping its best specs in reserve for an impending Pro Plus SKU. They include more high-res cameras - including a possibly brand-new one from Samsung - and the new top-end Snapdragon 8 Plus Gen 1 processor.

Vivo is now projected to have a successor for the X70 Pro Plus (or Pro+) in the works after all, even though it was left out of the series' initial launch in April 2022. It is now tipped to debut as its brand's Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 vehicle, which may be why it has yet to appear.

The Vivo X80 Pro+ is believed to have the same screen and, thus, general dimensions of, the existing Pro variant. However, according to Yogesh Brar, in a new leak presented in partnership with MySmartPrice, it will excel in the rear camera department.

The X80 Pro already has a Vivo-customized ISOCELL GNV main 50MP shooter, along with a 48MP ultrawide-angle lens, a 12MP telephoto camera for 2x optical zoom, as well as an 8MP periscope camera. The Pro+, on the other hand, is forecast to replace the last 2 with the Samsung ISOCELL JN1 and "JN2" (its potential next generation?) respectively.

This could make the X80 Pro+ a 50+48+50+50MP camera smartphone - furthermore, Brar and MySmartPrice have mentioned 120W charging for the putative ultra-flagship, which would be an upgrade on all current Vivo flagships and unprecedented for its series. Then again, the OEM has yet to acknowledge any of these rumors.
