A two-minute video clip posted by VR4Player.fr on YouTube has created a bit of a stir thanks to its PlayStation 5-related content. A well-crafted concept of the upcoming console is highlighted throughout the video along with already released information about the device. Unlike the PS5 concept renders we reported on last month that have the points of the “V” facing the front, this new render shows the console with the points facing the rear.
As can be seen in the video, the rear of the PS5 concept console is bristling with connectivity options, including HDMI, LAN, and the obligatory selection of USB ports. Nestled between the two wings of the “V” there appears to be a cooling solution, which the PS5/PSV is going to need thanks to high-end components such as the custom SSD, AMD Zen 2 8-core CPU, and the 7nm Navi-based GPU.
The front of the console is just as useful as the rear due to the placement of three more USB ports and additional HDMI connections underneath a small display, which can show information in both landscape and portrait mode. The video depicts the PS5 clad in both black and white, while reminding viewers of some of the other selling points of Sony’s next-gen console, including ray tracing and backwards compatibility.
Unsurprisingly, being an artistic render of the PS5/PSV means the whole thing could be completely off the mark, and there’s still no confirmation of either release date or actual price, regardless of rumors and tips. However, judging by the comments for the video, it seems many gamers would be very happy to part with their money if Sony crafts something similar to this latest effort.
