Apple releases iOS 15.5, iPadOS 15.5, watchOS 8.6, macOS 12.4 and more
Apple has refreshed its many operating systems, following a recent round of public beta builds. While Apple has updated the likes of iOS, macOS and watchOS simultaneously, they still remain on different revisions. For example, Apple has released macOS 12.4, iOS 15.5 and watchOS 8.6.
After Apple introduced several new features with iOS 15.4, its successor only makes minor changes to iOS 15. According to Apple's changelog, iOS 15.5 improves Apple Podcasts by adding a setting limiting the number of stored episodes and deleting older ones. Moreover, Apple has fixed an issue where home automation could fail when people leave or enter their home.
Similarly, Apple has added the same Podcasts feature in macOS 12.4, as well as support for Studio Display firmware version 15.5. Released previously, the Studio Display's latest firmware provides greater noise reduction, improved camera tuning and better contrast. Incidentally, Apple has issued minor other updates with watchOS 8.6, tvOS 15.5 and HomePod 15.5. You can find more details about these updates in the corresponding hyperlink.
For reference, all this month's are available to download through Settings or System Preferences, depending on the device that you are updating. Please note that you must update your Apple Watch via a paired iOS device. Also, Apple recommends commencing with a watchOS update only if your Apple Watch is being charged.
