Apple iPhone 20 Pro teaser: First 0mm true bezel-less smartphone revealed by Tecno video

For years, the smartphone industry has been taking baby steps toward the ideal of a completely bezel-less smartphone display. Every year, manufacturers like Xiaomi and others announce new milestones: Roughly 1.3 mm bezels of current phones will soon to be reduced to just 1 mm-thin black borders around our modern OLED displays, but we may see a more dramatic change next year. Rumors have suggested for months that Apple may plan to launch a truly bezel-less smartphone display as early as 2027, apparently as part of a complete iPhone 20 Pro redesign to mark the 20th iPhone anniversary next year.
However, Tecno Mobile is now beating Apple to it—at least in form of a concept device. A video released on the last day of July 2026 shows a smartphone that is said to feature display bezels that are actually 0 mm thin. It’s important to emphasize that this is a concept device, so this smartphone design is still a long way from mass production. The future Apple design may also differ in detail from that of the Tecno phone shown here, as Apple will apparently opt for glass with rounded edges rather than a flat display as seen here.
Comparison with a conventional smartphone design
The leaker Ice Universe has also posted an insightful comparison image for us, showing Tecno’s bezel-less phone alongside a familiar smartphone design like the iPhone 17 Pro. It’s just a shame that Tecno can’t do without the display cutout for the front camera yet.

Hands-on-time at IFA in Berlin
If you’d like to get some hands-on-time with this concept phone yourself, you might soon get a chance. As Tecno has officially announced, this new phone design will be on display at IFA in Berlin, Germany (starting September 4, 2026), at least as part of the Showstoppers press event. Knowing Tecno, they’ll probably also be displaying the bezel-less concept at their booth, where everyone will be able to see and admire it.
