The Apple iPhone 17 Pro and iPhone 17 Pro Max feature a 48-megapixel f/2.8 periscope telephoto camera that reaches a 35mm equivalent focal length of 100mm, or approximately 4x optical zoom. Sandmarc has now introduced a new telephoto converter that effectively doubles the focal length to 200 mm.
In conjunction with Apple's in-sensor zoom, users can capture photos with 16x zoom at a resolution of 24 MP. The lens is also compatible with the iPhone 16 Pro (Max) and iPhone 15 Pro Max, extending the focal length of these smartphones' 12-megapixel telephoto camera to 240 mm, effectively reaching 10x optical zoom.

However, the lens is not compatible with iPhones without a telephoto camera. For users of the base model, Sandmarc continues to offer the older 58 mm lens, which at least transforms the main camera into a telephoto camera with 4x zoom.
The 5.7 cm long, 143 g lens can either be screwed directly onto the iPhone using the protective cover provided or attached to the smartphone with a clip – both are included in the scope of delivery when the corresponding bundle is selected. The filter adapter allows the use of standard 43mm ND, polarizing or effect filters with the lens.
