Apple has just released new high-end MacBooks, which usually means that prospective buyers who are looking for big discounts will have to wait a while to take advantage of better offers. Thankfully, the base MacBook Pro 14 with the Apple M5 10-core processor already hit the market last year, which consequently means that certain retailers are already selling the powerful multimedia laptop way under its official MSRP.
This is now the case on Amazon, which is where the 14-inch MacBook Pro M5 with 16GB RAM and 1TB of SSD storage has been discounted to $1,499 including free shipping. This Apple deal is available to all customers, not just Prime subscribers. According to Camelcamelcamel, this discount of $200 or 12% relative to the official list price results in an all-time low.
Since $1,500 is still a lot of money to spend on a new notebook, shoppers might want to read through our comprehensive review of the MacBook Pro 2025 before placing their order. More or less unsurprisingly, our benchmarks and test results indicate that the Apple M5 is an extremely quick processor. In addition, Apple has equipped the laptop with a fantastic and bright mini-LED screen, a top-notch chassis and excellent speakers.
Unfortunately, the MBP 14 can get very loud under full load, there's permanent PWM flickering and no way to replace any of the internal components in case users need more RAM or storage in the future. WiFi 7 is also missing. That being said, the MacBook Pro M5 is a very well-rounded notebook that's probably on the shortlist of many multimedia users and even professionals who are looking for a very powerful 14-inch machine.
