The Apple AirPower charging mat may launch soon: new leak

The techno-business blog DigiTimes has released a report that discusses Lite-On Semiconductor's recent fortunes. They are to be positively impacted by some supply contracts and incursions into new markets. Why is this relevant to people who feel they are in need of Apple-brand wireless-charging accessories, you ask? Well, some of this activity relates to the fact LiteOn's products are reportedly used in the AirPower charging mat.

This product apparently depends on a glass-passivated package bridge rectifier, which is manufactured by Lite-On Semiconductor. Accordingly, Apple has reportedly engaged the supplier to complete these long-awaited charging pads. The DigiTimes report also directly drops the AirPower name, and asserts that its sources at LiteOn have indicated that the new product will be released "in late March".
