Anbernic RG505: OLED gaming handheld launches for US$147.99 with Android 12
Anbernic has introduced the RG505, another in a long line of gaming handhelds that the company has released this year. Based on the Unisoc Tiger T618, the RG505 utilises 4 GB of LPDDR4X RAM and 128 GB of eMMC flash storage, plus a 5,000 mAh battery. For reference, the Unisoc Tiger T618 has two ARM Cortex-A75 CPU cores, six Cortex-A55 CPU cores and a Mali-G52 MP2 GPU.
Additionally, Anbernic has included a microSD card reader, plus a 3.5 mm jack, hall sensors and a gyroscope for gaming. As the company’s marketing images show, the RG505 has the usual array of gamepad buttons too, including four shoulder buttons and action buttons arranged in a YXAB layout. Moreover, Anbernic has equipped the gaming handheld with a 4.95-inch OLED display that operates at 960 x 544 pixels.
According to the company’s product page, the RG505 ships with Android 12, rather than Android 10 like the AYN Odin. Currently, Anbernic offers the RG505 for US$147.99 in Grey, Turquoise and Yellow colourways. Alternatively, the company sells the 189 x 87 x 18 mm handheld with 128 GB and 256 GB microSD cards for US$162.99 and US$177.99, respectively. All Anbernic RG505 orders should start shipping globally after November 29.
