The Amazon Halo Rise bedside sleep tracker has been revealed. The device uses integrated sensors, rather than a wearable, to gather data about your sleep and subsequently recommend improvements. Metrics which the gadget can track include body movement, breathing, room temperature, humidity and light. You can then view insights such as your sleep score in the accompanying Halo app, which also has meditation and bedtime story sections.
You can set the Halo Rise to wake you naturally with its built-in light, gradually brightening at your chosen time. Alternatively, a Smart Alarm feature can sense the perfect time for you to wake based on the sleep data collected. With Alexa compatibility, you can control the gadget with voice commands and link it to an Echo device to wake up with music. Amazon notes that the Halo Rise does not have a camera or microphone, and you can disable the sleep tracking at any time. The clock display has up to 400 nits brightness, and the wake-up LED light can reach 300 lux.
The compact gadget is white, measuring 5.2 x 6.7 x 1.45-in (~13.2 x 17.0 x 3.68 cm). The Amazon Halo Rise will be released in the US later this year, costing US$139.99. Customers will also receive six months of Halo membership with their purchase; the subscription will auto-renew at US$3.99 per month. The company notes, "access to some features in the Halo app may require a Halo membership."
