Affordable AMD-powered Mechrevo laptop launches with slim and lightweight design

Mechrevo released the Intel Wildcat Lake-powered Unbounded 14S 2026 in China as a 14-inch rival to the MacBook Neo, and now, the company has launched another variant of the laptop. It's powered by an AMD processor, and it brings more power than the last one.

Specifically, the new laptop packs the Ryzen 7 H 255, a rebranded version of the 8745H with an 8-core configuration and the Radeon 780M iGPU. Mechrevo says that the AMD processor can be configured to offer up to 45W of performance, and paired with 24GB of RAM, it should be more than good enough for light to moderate loads.

The Unbounded 14S 2026 Ryzen Edition comes with a 14-inch display with a resolution of 1920x1200 pixels. Mechrevo didn't mention anything about the refresh rate, so it's likely a standard 60Hz panel. The company did, however, note that the panel has DC dimming and 100% sRGB coverage.

Another notable aspect is the build, with Mechrevo claiming that the laptop weighs only 1.1kg (about 2.43lbs). It's relatively slim as well, and while it has a thin chassis, there's a decent port configuration, which includes the following:

• 2x 10Gbps USB Type-C with PD and DP 1.4
• 2x USB 3.2 Gen 1 Type-A
• 1x HDMI 2.1
• 1x 3.5mm audio

For wireless connectivity, the laptop has WiFi 6, and there's a 60Wh battery inside, but the company didn't share the rated runtime for this version of the Unbounded 14S 2026.

In China, the Mechrevo 14S 2026 Ryzen Edition is available in only one configuration, which has a 512GB SSD (Lexar 2TB NM790 curr. $329.99 on Amazon), and it has a launch price of CNY 4,699, about $700. The company does bring some of its products outside the Chinese market, but it doesn't have a wide global presence.
