AYN Technologies is preparing to release a new gaming handheld. Teased on Indiegogo, the Odin2 will run Android and will feature a Snapdragon chipset with a design reminiscent of the original Odin.

2023 has been a quiet year for AYN Technologies, particularly compared with other gaming handheld manufacturers like AYANEO and GPD. To recap, the company announced revised plans in May for its LOKI series, with all Intel SKUs dropped owing to a lack of demand. Now, it has returned with the Odin2, roughly 18 months after it started shipping Odin units to initial backers.

Curiously, AYN Technologies has not mentioned the Odin2 on its website, nor on any of its social media channels. Instead, it has posted the device's Indiegogo campaign page with a single teaser image. Embedded above, the Odin2 looks as if it has a redesigned chassis compared to the original model with a repositioned d-pad and left analog stick.

Moreover, the Odin2 will feature a Snapdragon chipset, the exact version of which is unknown at this stage. For reference, the original model got the best out of its Snapdragon 845 chipset thanks to an active cooling solution. As such, the Odin2 is unlikely to contain Qualcomm's latest Snapdragon chipset. Furthermore, the Odin2 will ship with Android, not Windows or other operating systems. Currently, you can sign up for future details on the Odin2 Indiegogo page.
