Sony announces free PS Plus games for August 2023
Even in the heat of summer, many PlayStation gamers are not pausing their beloved hobby and are on the lookout for new and exciting games that don't break the bank. Fortunately, the Japanese gaming giant Sony has now announced its lineup of free PS Plus games for August 2023, which gamers with an active Essential, Premium or Extra subscription can soon download from the PSN Store.
Next month’s PS Plus headliner is the golf simulation PGA Tour 2K23, which will be available for free download starting next Tuesday, August 1, 2023. The rather self-explanatory game allows players to take control of the world-famous cover athlete Tiger Woods, but needless to say, the title also offers an extensive career mode for which players can create their very own golfer. PGA Tour 2K23 is available for the PlayStation 4 as well as the more powerful current-gen console from Sony, the PlayStation 5.
Alternatively, gamers who aren’t particularly interesting in sports should take a closer look at Sony's two other PS Plus games for August 2023. For instance, Dreams is a quite unique title from the makers of the Little Big Planet series that relies on diverse community-created content. PlayStation Plus subscribers who are into fantasy action will also be able to enjoy Death’s Door for free, which is a hack 'n' slash and reminiscent of one of the latest gaming blockbusters Diablo 4. As always, it should be noted that the current PS Plus games can still be added to the library for free until August 1.
