AMD Ryzen 7 Pro 2700U-powered HP ProBook 445 G6 launched in India
The HP ProBook 445 G6 and 455 G6 were announced earlier this year, first with Intel Whiskey Lake-U options (430, 440 and 450 G6) followed by the cheaper AMD Ryzen and Ryzen Pro Zen+ APUs. Now, the ProBook 445 G6 has made its way to Indian shores with prices starting from ₹67,260 (US$975).
The HP ProBook 445 G6 is targeted at the enterprise and offers a slim and lightweight chassis. You get to choose CPU options between a Ryzen 3 2200U, Ryzen 5 2500U, or a Ryzen 7 Pro 2700U along with customizable RAM and M.2 SSD choices. While we had an overall good impression about the ProBook 445 G6 in our review, we did find that HP had cut some corners with the display — the brightness was low and unevenly distributed. Connectivity wise, the laptop is well-endowed with three USB Type-A ports, a USB Type-C port, HDMI 1.4b, Ethernet, a combo audio jack, and an SD card reader with an optional fingerprint sensor for Windows Hello.
While the HP ProBook 445 G6 is cheaper than its Intel equivalent that offers more single-threaded performance, the AMD variants fare better in graphics thanks to the integrated Vega GPUs. The choice to go with Intel or AMD would ultimately depend on your workflow.
Irrespective of your choice, both Intel and AMD variants offer HP's suite of enterprise tools that enable added identity and data theft protection, user account management, malware protection via BIOSphere Gen4, and HP Fast Charge.
