HP ProBook 445 G7 and 455 G7 launching April with 7 nm AMD Ryzen 7 4700U options
Looks like we'll have to wait a little bit longer before we get to see proper Ryzen PRO 4000U processors for business laptops. Until then, HP will be including the regular consumer Ryzen SKUs onto its latest ProBook models set to launch by the end of the month.
In January of 2019, HP announced the 14-inch ProBook 445 G6 and 15.6-inch ProBook 455 G6 each equipped with the Ryzen 7 2700U. Now, HP is ready to launch their respective successors with the ProBook 445 G7 and ProBook 455 G7 each equipped with AMD's latest third generation of Renoir processors.
As detailed by the specifications sheets below, both models can be configured with the Ryzen 3 4300U, Ryzen 5 4500U, or Ryzen 7 4700U. In fact, both systems are essentially identical in storage, RAM, wireless, ports, and even display resolution. These AMD models will complement the Intel-based ProBook 440 and ProBook 450 series.
There are no other visual changes to the chassis between the ProBook G6 and ProBook G7 models meaning that this yearly refresh is mostly a processor swap. Nonetheless, the CPU update should provide exceptionally faster gen-to-gen performance without impacting temperatures or battery life as the jump from the AMD Ryzen 2000U/3000U series to the newer Ryzen 4000U series is quite significant.

After graduating with a B.S. in environmental hydrodynamics from the University of California, I studied reactor physics to become licensed by the U.S. NRC to operate nuclear reactors. There's a striking level of appreciation you gain for everyday consumer electronics after working with modern nuclear reactivity systems astonishingly powered by computers from the 80s.
