HP has always been a staunch supporter of AMD-powered laptops in the budget to mid-range categories. The consumer-centric Pavilion and Envy families, for example, have a handful of AMD options to choose from that are typically less expensive than their Intel counterparts.
For business users, the upcoming 13.3-inch HP ProBook x360 435 G7 will come equipped with the latest 3rd gen Zen 2 U-series APUs announced at CES 2020. Options will range from the Ryzen 3 4300U up to the octa-core Ryzen 7 4700U with a 1000-nit 1080p touchscreen, Intel AX200 Wi-Fi 6, and 16 GB of user-removable DDR4-3200 RAM. Note that the faster 16-thread Ryzen 7 4800U will not be available.
Interestingly, the processor options will not be the Ryzen PRO versions according to the official press release and specifications sheet below meaning that the ProBook x360 435 G7 will be missing enterprise-level security features. AMD has yet to announce Ryzen PRO SKUs for its Ryzen 4000 series as of this writing.
The ProBook x360 435 G7 will launch this May with starting prices to be unveiled at a later date. We expect HP to launch the ProBook x360 430 G7 Intel version in the weeks or months to follow.
