AMD Ryzen 5000 Series chips up for grabs as part of Western Digital's 12 Days of WD_BLACK promotion starting December 10
If you’ve been pulling your hair out with frustration lately while trying to get hold of an AMD Ryzen 5 5600X or Ryzen 7 5800X processor, you might want to check out Western Digital’s upcoming 12 Days of WD_BLACK promotion. The event, which begins on December 10, features 12 days of streams, interviews, and free giveaways as Western Digital pushes sales for the Holiday season. Those tuning in on the official Twitch TV channel for WD_BLACK at 3:30 PM PDT on December 10 will get to enjoy The Games Awards Watch Party and then be in with a chance of winning a Ryzen 5000 Series CPU (depending on terms and instructions).
Western Digital hasn’t given away too many details yet, such as which SKUs will be given away and how many, but the image used in the promo announcement does suggest Ryzen 5, 7, and 9 parts will be up for grabs, with maybe some lucky viewer even ending up with a mighty Ryzen 9 5900X (US$549) or Ryzen 9 5950X (US$799) for free. The data storage company has teamed up with partners such as AMD, Nvidia, Asus, Nintendo, and Logitech so there should be some interesting products to be had during the 12 Days of WD_BLACK promotion.
The WD_BLACK range of devices is part of the high-performance premium end of Western Digital’s product lineup. It includes parts such as the AN1500 NVMe SSD Add-in Card that can reach up to 6,500 MB/s sequential read rates and the handy D50 Game Dock NVMe SSD with its huge variety of ports (10 in total), customizable LED lighting, and Thunderbolt 3 connectivity. The promotion starts on Thursday December 10 with a stream or event following each day until Monday December 21.
