In addition to the RTX 5070 Ti and RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB, Nvidia is reportedly also halting the production of the RTX 5060. The information comes on the heels of a controversy surrounding Asus first confirming the discontinuation of the RTX 5070 Ti to Hardware Unboxed and later walking back the confirmation.

A few days back, Hardware Unboxed claimed that Nvidia was discontinuing the RTX 5070 Ti and the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB. The situation quickly developed into something of a controversy, as Nvidia and Asus later pushed back, claiming that the RTX 5070 Ti wasn’t getting discontinued. However, the ground reality is entirely different, as the RTX 5070 Ti and the RTX 5060 Ti 16 GB are now much more expensive than their MSRPs, which signals that the supply is quite tight.

Adding to this depressing situation, Moore’s Law Is Dead now reports that Nvidia is also paring back the production of the RTX 5060. One of the leaker’s “Distributor” sources alleges that, per their conversation with AIBs, the RTX 5060 “is done for the next 6 months”. Nvidia has reportedly “overbooked” AI supply, and the company has to stop the production of almost the entire RTX 50 series to compensate.

The source told MLID that the RTX 5070, RTX 5080, and the RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB will be the only GPUs that will see limited supply, while the rest of the RTX 50 cards will soon be “unobtanium”.

A “Major Retailer” source reported the same information as the “Distributor” source, claiming that the supply of the RTX 5060 will get worse until Q4 2026. Nvidia will allegedly “re-examine” the situation in Q4. This source further added that the RTX 5050 and the RTX 5060 will make up the majority of the volume moving forward.

Finally, an AIB source mentioned to MLID that Nvidia is not only raising the prices of the RTX 50 BOM kits that the company supplies to AIBs, but is also only “effectively” providing the RTX 5080, the RTX 5070, the RTX 5060 Ti 8 GB, and the RTX 5050. The RTX 5060 has reportedly been paused due to RAM and cost considerations.

Finally, the AIB source also gave a dire warning to consumers to expect at least a 30% price increase imminently. This confirms a report out of Taiwan that AIBs like MSI, Asus, and Gigabyte are raising prices of their RTX 50 SKUs.

Long story short, consumers are in for a rough six months when it comes to general GPU availability. While we haven’t heard of AMD cutting supply of RDNA 4 GPUs, it is almost certain that, once Nvidia stops RTX 50 production, the RX 9000 cards are going to see a sharp price hikes.
