Thanks to unprecedented demand for Data Center hardware from AI companies, Nvidia is currently the largest company in the world with a market cap of around $4.3 trillion. Nvidia’s momentum was also particularly strong in 2025, with a 62% Year-over-Year revenue increase for Q3 FY2026. Data Center products, like the H200, contributed the most to this revenue growth. So, it is not surprising that Nvidia has reportedly become the biggest TSMC customer, as Nvidia’s latest Data Center and client GPUs utilize TSMC process nodes.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang revealed in a podcast that Nvidia had overtaken Apple to become TSMC’s biggest client in 2025. Apple accounted for around 25% of TSMC’s 2024 revenue, while Nvidia accounted for less than half at 11%. This means that, in 2025, Nvidia made TSMC more money than Apple, an assertion that is backed by Nvidia’s record-breaking Q3 FY2026 results.
According to figures reported by I/O Fund (via Beth Kindig on X), Nvidia’s Data Center revenue for Q3 2025 beat Apple’s iPhone revenue for the first time ever.
Apple could lose its MVP status with TSMC
From discounts to priority access to the newest process nodes, Apple has enjoyed special treatment from TSMC for a while now. This made sense, since Cupertino’s orders made up a large portion of TSMC’s annual revenue. With Nvidia now taking Apple’s place, one can expect TSMC to grant the privileges once reserved for Apple alone to Team Green.
We are already hearing rumors that TSMC is pushing Apple accept a large price hike. While we don’t know the validity of this information, TSMC is likely to prioritize Nvidia over Apple moving forward, as Nvidia’s Data Center is unlikely to slow down anytime soon.
This is not to say that Apple isn’t doing well, as the iPhone 17 series is quite popular. But Nvidia’s momentum and projected growth will undoubtedly be key markers for TSMC.
