(March 28, 2019 update: The Envy 15 with AMOLED display will supposedly launch on April 19.)
As part of HP's yearly refresh, the 13.3-inch Envy 13, 15.6-inch Envy 15, and 17.3-inch Envy 17 will all be returning for the 2019 calendar year with new designs and features. All models will share similar metal chassis materials, narrow bezel displays, edge-to-edge backlit keyboards, Sure View support, privacy camera kill switch, Whiskey Lake-U CPUs, and Alexa voice recognition.
Firstly, the 2019 Envy 13 will be 0.2 mm thinner and 0.03 pounds lighter than the 2018 model due to some very slight physical changes to the rear corners of the chassis. The Life Hinge design will return once again to lift the base at a slight angle when the lid is opened for improved ergonomics.
Next up is the 2019 Envy 15. This particular screen size is notable for its optional AMOLED display not unlike on the many flagship OLED laptops announced at CES 2019. The top bezel of the lid is now much thinner compared to the 2018 model (10.3 mm vs. 14.3 mm) as well.
Lastly, the 2019 Envy 17 will have a 45 percent thinner top bezel compared to the 2018 model with both Intel Optane and GeForce MX250 options. HP will clearly market this one as the "powerhouse" option out of the new lineup.
Expect the Envy 13 and Envy 17 to launch this April for a starting price of $899 each. The Envy 15 should be following shortly thereafter. All sizes will come in Pale Gold, Natural Silver, and Nightfall Black color options.
