New e-bike with a massive 960 Wh battery and full suspension doesn’t cost a fortune

Available for €1,999, the Lankeleisi MG600 Pro offers budget-friendly full suspension, even if its component selection cannot quite rival high-end e-MTBs. While Lankeleisi also operates in the US, the MG600 Pro does not yet appear to be available there—where less restrictive regulations typically allow for higher motor outputs. Unusually for an e-mountain bike, it relies on a rear hub motor rather than a mid-drive unit. The motor delivers a continuous rated output of 250 W, a peak power of 750 W, and a claimed 65 Nm of torque. Range shouldn't be an issue thanks to a remarkably large, removable 960 Wh battery, which also simplifies servicing or replacement in the event of a fault. Riders can toggle motor assistance between a cadence sensor and a torque sensor; cadence mode is well-suited for relaxed cruising, though it offers less immediate responsiveness.

Suspension duties are handled by a 150 mm travel fork up front and a 130 mm rear shock, paired with 29 x 2.4-inch Maxxis tires. Shifting is handled by an 8-speed Shimano drivetrain, while four-piston hydraulic disc brakes provide stopping power alongside automatic motor cut-offs when pulling the levers. Unsurprisingly, the full suspension setup and high-capacity battery add substantial bulk, bringing the MG600 Pro to 30.2 kg (66.6 lbs)—a weight measured without the optional rear luggage rack. Pre-installed lighting and very short fenders are included, though the latter offer limited practical coverage.
