Xiaomi's ongoing hype campaign for its next top-end Android smartphone asserts that the 13 Ultra is much more than a mere "camera phone". To that end, it is now said to underpin its "professional" use-cases through the ability to work with certain filters, just like a real DSLR. This might be achieved with a new accessory with the requisite adapter.

Xiaomi's 13 Ultra will be official just 3 days from today (April 15, 2023); nevertheless, the OEM seemingly can't help hyping its rear camera prowess ahead of this event. This process has now reached the photo sample stage, which casually drops some impressive specs for the new quad-cam system.

They include apertures ranging from f/1.8 and 1.9 to 3.0, focal lengths of 23mm, 75mm and 120mm and ISO values of as low as 50, thus far. That hardware is also now backed to launch with enhanced optics thanks to a new "High Steady State Coating" for at least 1 of the 13 Ultra's 4 Leica lenses.

Accordingly, Xiaomi has hinted that a potential buyer might like to carry their unit around in an accessory that renders it compatible with "67mm filters". This 'pro' case might become available with a 13 Ultra camera hump adapter at 1 end and a pointedly blocky, pronounced grip at the other in a green-ish, leather-look finish alongside its matching super-flagship smartphone.
