Wanbo T2 Max (New) launches as tiny projector with upgraded brightness and AI Auto Focus
With its 113x146x156mm chassis, the Wanbo T2 Max looks more like some indoor security cameras than what it actually is. However, its front-facing "high-transmittance optical lens" is there to emit images in "native" 1080p using the same LCD technology (with an LED light source) as higher-end rivals such as the Xiaomi Smart Projector 2.
Accordingly, Wanbo touts the new T2 Max as the go-anywhere projector, as it did the older version. However, while the original T-series projector had a max brightness estimated at 250 ANSI lumens, the 2023 model boasts an "industry standard" rating of 450 of the same units.
Wanbo also asserts that the T2 Max (New) has a much "nicer sound" compared to its predecessor, with "shocking" room-filling bass. It has also been upgraded to an "intelligent" thermal management system, even though it is also "much quieter", aiming for 35 dB/m or less at all times.
These specs empower it to throw projections with a "16 Million Color Spectrum" of 40 to 140 inches onto walls 1.1 to 2.6 meters away from it, in a "Netflix-certified" manner with AF informed by an in-house AI. However, some hallmarks of the "old" T2 Max still seem to remain, especially in the form of a UI based on Android 9.0 (yes, that's right, Pie).
Nevertheless, the T2 Max might make up for that with a Midnight Blue colorway to go with the more conventional Snow White option, not to mention a recommended price currently set at US$219.99/~€200. However, its "presale" deals on Geekbuying might reduce that price to US$199/~€181 at present.
