CES 2020 | The Panasonic SC-HTB01 soundbar is "designed especially for gamers"
Among Panasonic's showcase for CES this year, a new kind of soundbar is to be found: one focused on gaming. The SC-HTB01 has been developed in collaboration with Square Enix, which results in its ability to support specific modes that support FPS and RPG titles (Final Fantasy included). There is also a "Voice" mode, which may help Twitch streamers or other kinds of user.
This soundbar also supports Dolby Atmos, DTS:X and DTS Virtual:X. It is also rated for 4K/HDR pass-through and up to 192kHz/24bit audio. The Panasonic SC-HTB01 contains 2 25W left/right front speakers and a single 30W 1-way subwoofer. It measures about 17×2×5.1 inches and about 4 pounds (lb).
The new product outputs to a display via HDMI, and derives A/V input through the same and through Optical Digital Audio. It also has a USB port, although it functions for upgrades alone. The SC-HTB01 will be available from June 2020, although Panasonic has yet to announce its pricing.
