The Acer B250i is a new LED projector being showcased at the 2020 CES. Its maker asserts that, with its 5-watt chamber speakers and passive radiators, it is capable of "Studio Sound" as a standalone media system. This aspect of the projector may be further enhanced with Acer's TrueHarmony and Waves Maxx Audio for "crisp and clear" bass.

Weighing in at just 1.45kg and measuring 205x204x78mm, the B250i may be ideal to throw in a bag and take anywhere. Acer claims that, with its FHD quality, 5,000:1 contrast ratio, and 120% of the Rec. 709 color space, it is suitable for both enterprise- and entertainment-related use cases. This picture is generated via LED, which is paired with rapid auto-focus on the target surface in the B250i.

The new, compact projector can operate using Wi-Fi for screen mirroring with iOS or Android devices, or over wired connections. The user would have a choice of USB type A, USB type C and HDMI when selecting this option. The Acer B250i will start to become available from April 2020, and will cost US$699 in the North American region.

I became a professional writer and editor shortly after graduation. My degrees are in biomedical sciences; however, they led to some experience in the biotech area, which convinced me of its potential to revolutionize our health, environment and lives in general. This developed into an all-consuming interest in more aspects of tech over time: I can never write enough on the latest electronics, gadgets and innovations. My other interests include imaging, astronomy, and streaming all the things. Oh, and coffee.
