Tezeus has launched an Indiegogo crowdfunding campaign for its new e-bike, the C8. The lightweight model has a carbon fiber frame with a patented motor assisting you for up to 100 km (~62 miles). Other notable features include a Google Maps integration, a built-in touchscreen and a taillight activated via mmWave radar sensors.

The Tezeus C8 smart e-bike is now crowdfunding on Indiegogo. The campaign has already passed its $12,791 funding target, raising almost $34,000 at the time of writing. The company says its electric bicycle has been designed for riding in the city as a more environmentally friendly way of getting around, with a lightweight frame and smart features.

Tezeus describes the C8’s patented 250W 60Nm mid-mounted motor as invisible, assisting you at speeds up to 25 kph (~16 mph) in the EU or 32 kph (~20 mph) in the US. A removable 360Wh battery provides up to 100 km (~62 miles) range; you can fully recharge the power pack via the accompanying 160W GaN charger in under three hours. A 5-inch capacitive touch display lets you control features like the headlights and the battery compartment lock. Plus, the Linux-based EBIKE OS 2.0 has built-in Google Maps, allowing you to get directions without your phone. You can connect your phone via Bluetooth for remote controls via the app, like GPS tracking, activating the anti-theft alarm, and triggering OTA updates.

Another more unusual feature is the mmWave radar-activated taillights. If a fast-moving vehicle is determined to be too close, the lights flicker to ensure you are seen by other road users, with vibrations and a “honking alert” to make the rider aware. The bike is relatively light at 15 kg (~33 lbs), thanks partly to its carbon frame. You can currently make a Super Early Bird Pledge of $2,178/HK$17,031/€1,999 to receive the Tezeus C8 e-bike, assuming the project is completed. The model has an RRP of $4,031/HK$31,517/€3,699 and is forecast to ship this March; the company delivers to the US, Canada, the UK and the EU.
