It appears that various Amazfit smartwatches will receive their last software updates in 2025. A web page linked to Zepp Health’s security updates lists all of the company’s wearables and the latest month in which an update is likely. Models which were designated as end-of-life (EOL) products earlier in 2025 include the Amazfit T-Rex Ultra and the Amazfit GTR Mini.
From 1st June 2025, the Amazfit GTS 4, Amazfit Cheetah Pro and Amazfit Cheetah (Round) became the latest smartwatches to become ineligible for standard security updates. They will be joined by the Amazfit Bip 5 in July, then the Amazfit Cheetah (Square) in August. Set to receive their final security update in September 2025 or before are the Amazfit Balance, the Amazfit Active and the Amazfit Active Edge.
On the security page, Zepp Health states that it typically offers security updates every 90 days for at least two years after the first shipment of each model. For example, the new Active 2 smartwatch (curr. $ 99.99 at Amazon) is set to receive updates until January 2027. In some cases, this is boosted to three years or more. Plus, if there were to be a serious vulnerability, the company suggests that it could provide a suitable update regardless of the device's age.
Zepp Health has never made any commitment to providing software updates with new features to its smartwatches. It seems unlikely that its EOL products, which are no longer eligible for security updates, would receive the brand’s latest features. In other news, it was on this Zepp Health security page that three new Amazfit wearables were leaked.
