Update, May 30: Staples as shared a statement clarifying availability of Switch 2 stock on launch day. "While inventory is expected to begin arriving as early as June 5, availability will vary by location and is not guaranteed on that specific date."
The Nintendo Switch 2 has seen incredible demand ever since pre-orders were announced on April 24. Some retailers will be offering units in-store on launch day while others will fulfil online and in-store pre-orders. Staples has announced that it will be among the stores limited Switch 2 units on launch day in an attempt to cash in on the hype and also offer fans another option to get their hands on the console on day one.
There are several participating Staples stores across the US that will have Switch 2 units in stock till supplies last on June 5. They will fulfill orders on a first come first serve basis and will limit one unit per person. The full list includes the addresses for participating stores across Arizona, California, Connecticut, Delaware, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Illinois, and more. For people in Iowa, only one Stapes location will carry the Switch 2.
Those who missed out on pre-ordering the console can make their way to an eligible Staples location, preferably as early as possible, on June 5. It is likely that some fans will be camping overnight in order to be the first into the store when it opens.
Staples has not shared how many units will be available at each store or if their store hours would be affected on June 5.
The office supply store joins Costco, GameStop, Best Buy, and Target to offer Switch 2 units on launch day. Best Buy will open late-night or early morning on June 5 and offer a limited quantity. Target is said to have 40 to 60 total units of the Switch 2 that will be equally split between the bundle and just the console. It will only allow in-store orders on June 5 with online orders starting from June 6.
