Samsung has taken every major component from the Galaxy S25 Ultra (even its 200MP camera) and slimmed each one down within a micron of its life in order to craft the new S25 Edge.
Its build invites suspicions that it would unleash a whole new fragility scandal on its release - expectations recently thwarted on the JerryRigEverything YouTube channel as it passed its bend test with flying colors.
Accordingly, one might hope for the ~$1,100, 5.8mm device to pass the PBKReviews drop test with equal panache.
Instead, the vlogger found that its new Gorilla Glass Ceramic 2 display and Gorilla Glass Victus 2 rear panel may in fact crack on impact if they hit the asphalt flat on their front or back respectively.
The damage was far from fatal, though, and seemed to have little to no impact on its functions or internals.
In addition, it might be relatively possible to fix a broken S25 Edge in any case, as some recent teardown videos have shown.
There are some precautions to take before undertaking such a procedure, as Phone Repair Guru has found.
For example, the device's rear camera hump might have been re-designed to look as if it could be removed by itself to replace the lenses; however, any attempt to do so invites the risk of breaking the whole rear panel, even if heat is applied.
The S25 Edge was also praised for its easily-removable battery and almost disproportionately large vapor chamber for its top-end Snapdragon 8 Elite processor.
