August 2, 2025 4:55 PM GMT update: The lower battery capacity mentioned by @MysteryLupin seems to be incorrect as clarified by another leaker. The Galaxy S25 FE is still expected to come with 4,900 mAh as previously tipped.
Original article continues as follows:
Samsung recently confirmed that it will launch the Galaxy S25 FE earlier this year than the Galaxy S24 FE did last year. That’s good news for those looking to purchase the latest generation budget friendly flagship alternative, but the latest leak brings some disappointing news. Samsung seems to have sacrificed some battery capacity for the sake of slimming down the phone.
The information comes from @MysteryLupin on X who has been sharing Galaxy S25 FE leaks for some time now. The leaker mentions some of the key specifications for the Galaxy S25 FE wherein he mentions a 4,500 mAh battery capacity with 45W wired charging and 15W wireless charging support. Up till now, it was believed that the Galaxy S25 FE will come with a battery upgrade over the Galaxy S24 FE (buy on Amazon) but the latest leak seems to contradict those speculations.
The Galaxy S24 FE is backed by a 4,700 mAh battery and it was believed that the Galaxy S25 FE will come with a larger 4,900 mAh battery. Even though only 200 mAh, the capacity upgrade was a welcome change. Notably, these are just leaks so things might change as new information comes out as we move closer to launch.
That being said, it is also rumored that the Galaxy S25 FE will be slimmer and lighter than the Galaxy S24 FE, measuring 7.4 mm (vs 8 mm) and weighing 190 grams (vs 213 grams). This was likely why Samsung had to cut down the battery capacity, but this doesn’t necessarily mean the Galaxy S25 FE will have worse battery life than the Galaxy S24 FE. It is believed that the upcoming phone will be powered by the Exynos 2400 SoC rather than the Exynos 2400e in the Galaxy S24 FE so the changes in the SoC, along with optimizations Samsung brings with it, could result in better, if not the same, battery life.
As mentioned earlier, Samsung plans on releasing the Galaxy S25 FE earlier than its predecessor last year, which means the phone could be unveiled as early as this month, and go on sale within the month or early September.
