Samsung's upcoming affordable flagship, the Galaxy S25 FE, was initially rumoured to launch with the same Exynos 2400e SoC found on its last-gen counterpart. But then we learned that Samsung was also considering the Dimensity 9400 as a backup. A new Geekbench listing effectively debunks both pieces of information.
The Galaxy S25 FE (SM-S731U) showed up on Geekbench with an Exynos 2400 SoC. Not the Exynos 2400e, but the original Exynos 2400. Then again, the difference between them is marginal, with the latter sporting a slightly faster Prime CPU core. Technically, one can consider the Galaxy S25 FE to be an upgrade, but you probably won't be able to tell it apart from the Galaxy S24 FE in the real world.
Essentially, the Galaxy S25 FE and Galaxy Z Flip FE will share the same SoC. From a cost-saving perspective, it makes sense because Samsung clearly has some Exynos 2400 dies left over from last year. And all things considered, the Exynos 2400 was a fairly competent chip, unlike its predecessors. But alas, this Galaxy S25 FE variant is, once again, stuck at 8 GB RAM, but at least it runs Android 16 customized with One UI 8.0.
