A new leak has provided some information on the battery capacities of two devices Xiaomi has in the works. The source fails to specify what devices they refer to exactly, but claims they'll be launched under the Redmi brand, perhaps hinting at the upcoming Redmi K50 series.

According to tipster Bald Panda, Xiaomi is set to debut two new Redmi phones with big batteries. The tipster purports that the phones will offer two batteries: a 5160 mAh unit and a 5500 mAh one. It's unknown which devices those will be but the leaker's statement indicates they could be referring to the Redmi K50 series.

A 5500 mAh battery on the Redmi K50 series would be one of the biggest units Xiaomi has ever equipped a phone with, as the company tends to keep things pegged at 5000 mAh. While phones like the Redmi 10 Prime and Poco M3 have batteries north of 5500 mAh, Xiaomi has been reluctant to do so with its premium phones, likely due to design constraints.

Bald Panda claims that the phones are for the "Redmi Numeral" series, which could mean the Redmi 11. The Redmi 10 was only just launched, however, so a Redmi 11 is unlikely to debut anytime soon. The Redmi Note 11 series is also a possibility but launch is scheduled for tomorrow and the source has shown no inclination to be mysterious about the devices in the past. That leaves the Redmi K50 series as the likeliest option.
