The Polar Ignite 3 Braided Yarn special edition smartwatch has been launched worldwide. As its name suggests, this new version of the fitness and wellness-focused wearable offers a new woven fiber wristband in place of the original silicone wristband.
Polar suggests that this latest strap is lightweight and has a soft finish, making it “extremely comfortable”. There are two color options. The first is black with a woven zig-zag pattern and is the same 20 mm width as the silicone equivalent. A Bold Red version, which has a multicolored design, is also shown in images but has yet to be released.
The Ignite 3 has a 1.28-inch AMOLED touchscreen with a 416 x 416 px resolution. Features include sleep analysis, with Nightly Recharge indicating your energy levels for the day ahead. There are fitness tests, suggested workouts, training audio guidance and a wide range of activities to choose from. On top of this, you can track your heart rate, log calorie consumption and follow guided breathing exercises. According to Polar, the watch offers up to five days of battery life in watch mode or 30 hours when using GPS and heart rate tracking.
You can now buy the Polar Ignite 3 Braided Yarn smartwatch for £294.00/€339.90. The wearable is also due to launch in the US, where it will retail for $339.95; at the time of writing, the product is marked as out of stock on the brand’s website, with no indication of a release date. This makes it the same price as the older Polar Ignite 3 with silicone wristband (curr. $305.96 at Amazon).
