Garmin has rolled out a new update for the Fenix 8 and its peers. Restricted to its Beta Program for the time being, the new update introduces roughly a dozen bug fixes while also adding new features ahead of a future stable rollout.

Garmin has stepped up software development for the Enduro 3, Fenix E and Fenix 8 once again, having taken a break over the festive period. Only a few days have passed since the company brought over 20 changes to the trio by way of Beta Version 13.18.

Nonetheless, it has now skipped ahead to Beta Version 13.21, which it is issuing in a phased rollout. The update should reach 25% of eligible devices within the next 24-48 hours; Garmin has not clarified when the remaining 75% of Enduro 3, Fenix E and Fenix 8 smartwatches enrolled in its Beta Program will receive a notification to install Beta Version 13.21 at this stage.

Principally, Beta Version 13.21 serves to address outstanding issues, of which there are eleven bug fixes. The new update brings three new features to the table though, including support for German and Spanish QWERTY keyboards. Beta Version 13.21 also updates the English QWERTY keyboard layout for smaller displays, such as the 43 mm version of the Fenix 8 (curr. $999.99 on Amazon).

Enduro 3, Fenix E and Fenix 8 owners should see a progress bar on the music selection screen after updating too. It is worth stressing that Diving and ECG functions remain disabled on Beta Version 13.21. Therefore, there could be a few more beta builds before Garmin introduces a new stable update. Please see Garmin's changelog for more details.
