The Oppo Find X9 Ultra is thought to launch as a full-sized Android smartphone with a round camera hump and a significantly enlarged battery despite its relatively slim design. Should that be the case, it might somewhat resemble the A6 Max that has just debuted ahead of it.
It has had a low-key unveiling via Oppo's presence on the social media site Kuaishou, yet might serve as an early preview of the brand's next-gen design. It is nearly as big as the Find X8 Ultra with a 6.8-inch 1.5K 120Hz OLED display, yet has a new flat-edged chassis that is much thinner at 7.7 millimeters in depth.
The A6 Max is now Oppo's lightest 7,000mAh smartphone at 198 grams (g). It packs the same 80W SuperVOOC wired charging as the K13 Turbo series (and, perhaps, the upcoming Find X9 Pro), rated to charge its super-sized battery to 50% in just 30 minutes.
The X9 Ultra might still have the more impressive rear cameras of the 2, as the A6 Max is saddled with a profoundly standard 50+2MP array despite the triple lenses in its Find X8s-like camera hump.
The A6 Max might also be one of the least powerful smartphones with its looks, as it compromises in this area with the Snapdragon 7 Gen 3 processor.
It does qualify for advanced IP66/68/69 ratings, albeit with own-brand Crystal Shield Glass rather than Corning Gorilla Glass.
The A6 Max might make up for that by starting at just 1,599 yuan (~$224) with 256GB of internal storage to go with its 8GB of RAM.
