Official Xiaomi 14 press images confirm design and new camera hardware
Xiaomi's teaser campaign for the Xiaomi 14 series is now well underway, a day after it confirmed the launch date of its next flagship smartphones. Not only has the company published numerous sample photos taken with the Xiaomi 14, but it has also revealed the smaller model's design via several press renders and core camera features. For now, it appears that Xiaomi is not talking about the Xiaomi 14 Pro, although one photo also shows what we suspect is the Xiaomi 14's larger sibling.
At any rate, the Xiaomi 14 looks like a refined Xiaomi 13 with few visual changes between the pair. Thus, the Xiaomi 14 has three rear-facing cameras, flat sides, a flat display and comparatively thin bezels. However, Xiaomi has included a new primary camera this time around; previously, it equipped its smaller flagship with a 50 MP sensor that has a 1/1.49-inch optical format and an f/1.8 aperture. In comparison, the Xiaomi 14 will jump to a larger 1/1.31-inch sensor that also has 1.2 µm-wide pixels and an f/1.6 aperture.
Additionally, the primary camera is said to deliver higher dynamic range while consuming up to 42% less power. Moreover, one press shot outlines that the Xiaomi 14 will support Leica camera tunings, Vario Summilux lenses and 1:1.6-2.2/14-75 ASPH camera hardware. The Xiaomi 14 will launch on October 26 alongside the Xiaomi 14 Pro and Xiaomi Watch S3, among other devices.
