Sharp presents Mebius FW

The new Mebius notebooks by Sharp are equipped with AMD CPU’s and 15.4” displays. They shall be available in Japan at the end of April.

Sharp introduced the new models Mebius PC-FW50X and PC-FW60W. Both laptops are equipped with 15.4” display with a resolution of 1.280 x 800 pixels, and with AMD CPU’s. The FW50X provides a Mobile Sempron 3000+ CPU, and the FW70X is equipped with a Turion 64 X2 TL-58 processor.

Furthermore, 2 GB RAM and a 120 GB hard drive are installed. A DL DVD-RW drive and a PCMCIA slot are included as well. Four USB 2.0 ports and a fire wire port are built in for connecting peripheral equipment.

Additionally, Ethernet, WLAN (802.11b/g), a card reader, and a VGA port are included. The PC-FW50X and PC-FW60W start at ¥150,000 (approximately € 933) respectively at ¥165,000 (approximately € 1026). Both notebooks are going to be available at end of April.
